The cross-banding operation is done on both ends of the veneer sheet simultaneously. It reinforces longitudinally spliced veneers by means of a resistant glue thread which is applied at the ends across the grain. ~~ The special infeed system of the gluing heads pulls tightly together even fine end splits. This veneer edge protection avoids damage which often occurs during further handling. ~~ Stitches veneers from 0.4 - 2 mm thickness, working width 14 in. - 106 in. (360 - 2,700 mm), variable feed speed from 16 - 100 FPM; 3 kW feed motor, table size 21-1/2 in. x 37 in. on RH side. ~~ Glue is applied in zigzag fashion via heated guide; (1) gluing unit on each side, one is fixed and the other travels via rails for adjustable width opening. - Joins decorative and constructional veneers. - Good condition; our Ref.
